ABOUT SUE BAYLEY
“This new legacy of work is rooted in a commitment to serve and a strong sense of purpose, drawing from 25 years of personal and professional experience with individuals, families and professionals affected by nonverbal learning disabilities, mutism, autism and other hidden disabilities” Sue Bayley
The gifts depicted in the image above are those which have given me more meaning in life as I navigated my terror of being different into acceptance.
Containing and reflecting on my inner landscape through emotional intelligence
Creative thoughts that guide my day.
The elements of air, fire, water, earth that hold my energy for serving myself and others.
Somatic intelligence from swimming, walking, dancing and martial arts.
Creativity with my voice, my paintbrush and my pen, and the music or silence that accompanies it.
Why did I create this body of work?
My journey has shaped my work, as I have faced my own gifts and challenges.
I understand what it means to overcome limitations and appreciate the value of diverse ways of thinking. I aim to show that our beginnings and unique ways of thinking do not determine our worth.
Once, while helping a scared young client, I discovered my own diagnosis by taking the same test, which helped me understand my strengths and areas for growth.
The methods I use are based on the tools that have made it easier for me to navigate a world that often caters to neurotypical individuals.
Through this experience, I have learned a lot about myself and those I support, and I am committed to walking alongside others as they find their voice and purpose, guiding them toward realising their full potential.
Sue's BIO
As an Interfaith Minister, I am a Catalyst for Change.
I know the loneliness from feeling different, and the deep suppressed feelings that lay dormant for years.
I am familiar with the rage that comes from having a diagnosis confirmed, and the journey to find acceptance in tough news.
My art gives me an external expression of my inner landscape, and I have exhibed it in Sonoma, California.
I use my voice, my paintbrush and my pen.
Finding my courage to share my body of work has taken decades, as I challenge old ways of thinking, feeling and sensing the world.
Many neurotypical ways of doing and being in the world fail me. I have followed many tutors, mentors, and friends, yet ultimately had to find my own way, and action my intentions my way.
With over 24 years of experience in Local Authority, I supports individuals, families and professionals to adjust their perspectives, and put the client at the centre of the process.
I guided others to move from from feelings of overwhelm to recognising opportunities, with optomism, empowering them to express themselves, regain control of their lives, and trust their own instincts over the opinions of others.
My aim is to dismantle outdated practices that no longer benefit individuals, families, or the professionals that serve them.

Song by Gareth Wax, who met me in circle with other Catalysts for Change.
[Verse 1]
Sue walks in a room, a fire in her gaze
Hears the whispers, feels the sideways haze
But in her heart a strength begins to bloom
To chase away the shadows, banish all the gloom
[Pre-Chorus]
She sees the beauty others often miss
The intricate minds, the focused, gentle kiss
Of understanding, patience, and a world unseen
And Sue’s determined to make that world convene
[Chorus]
Oh, Sue, you are a beacon, shining ever bright
A voice that echoes, turning darkness into light
For every soul that dances to a different beat
You stand beside them, making their lives complete!
[Verse 2]
She speaks with passion, clear and strong and true
Breaks down the barriers, shows a different view
Challenges the judgments, the quick and careless glance
And offers empathy, a hopeful, second chance
[Pre-Chorus]
She knows the power of acceptance, kind and deep
The comfort in belonging, secrets they can keep
Unfurling talents, letting spirits soar
And Sue unlocks the potential, opening every door
[Chorus]
Oh, Sue, you are a champion, shining ever bright
A voice that echoes, turning darkness into light
For every soul that dances to a different beat
You stand beside them, making their lives complete!
[Bridge]
The world is changing, slowly but it’s true
Because of hearts like yours, Sue, brave and new
You plant the seeds of kindness, watch them grow with grace
Leaving understanding in its rightful place
[Chorus]
Oh, Sue, you are a champion, shining ever bright
A voice that echoes, turning darkness into light
For every soul that dances to a different beat
You stand beside them, making their lives complete!
[Outro]
Sue… you make a difference… a beautiful difference…
“I met Sue recently, and the first thing that came to mind was how honest she is.
Having dealt with so many people who haven’t listened, or taken into account the circumstances of what is happening, it was beyond refreshing to be able to be vulnerable with her about everything.
I felt like Sue is being a cheerleader for me, generous with her time and wisdom.
She has such a vibrancy about her and energy too. She really understands what it is like to be taken advantage of, and how to deal with the ups and downs. But really, her genuine authenticity is the thing that shines above all else.
If you need someone to listen, understand, hold your hand whilst guiding and supporting you, I know without doubt that Sue is the person to do that for you.
I would encourage any family having these challenges to have a talk with her, and find out what is really possible. Sue has so much knowledge and being in her company just feels like the hug you’ve been waiting for.”
